When the Bosch washing machine starts, the drum does not rotate, the display shows error F 21. Let's look at what this means.
Also, the drum may stop in the middle of washing.
The electromechanical models of SM BOSCH give an error by flashing (glowing) the speed lamps (1000-800, 800-600) and rinsing.
Note! Error code F21 for the Bosch washing machine is critical. It is necessary to immediately disconnect the machine.
What does the error mean: independent solution of the problem
Before you troubleshoot, do the following:
- If washing is not completed, interrupt the program.
- Disconnect the washing machine.
- Drain the water by hand.
- Remove the laundry and wipe the drum.
Now look at the operating instructions for the Bosch washer. You may have overloaded the tank with laundry, so you cannot remove the error, and the drum does not spin.
How to fix it: load less laundry, try starting the wash again. If everything works and error F21 in the Bosch was reset, then the problem is resolved.
Search and repair damage
So that the trouble code does not appear again, you need to find the breakdown. Notice if the drum rotates by hand.
If during washing the drum does not spin, but rotates manually, check the details:
Drive belt
The belt drives the drum, transmitting engine speed. If it is loose or worn, the transmission will be disrupted. If the belt burst or slept from the pulley, then there will be no rotation at all.
What do we have to do:
- Unplug the Bosch machine.
- Remove the back wall of the washer by unscrewing the bolts.
- Check belt condition. Replace if necessary.
- Find the right drive for your Bosch washing machine.
- Put the belt on the small pulley first, then on the large pulley, rotating it for a snug fit.
If these steps did not resolve the error, read on.
Control block
When the error F 21 lights up on the display of the Bosch washing machine, the cause may be a malfunction of the electronics. The controller does not send a signal to start the wash.
You need to get the control module, check all the connections and elements of the board. Replace the unit if necessary.
Carbon brushes
When the carbon brushes of the engine are worn, the rotor will not rotate. To check and replace the brushes will have to get the engine.
Failure of the engine (motor)
To determine exactly where the breakdown occurred, the engine must be carefully checked. After all, the cause may be an open circuit, short circuit of the winding, breakdown of the tachometer.
If motor failure is proven, a new element must be installed. Perhaps this will help eliminate error code 21 from the Bosch washing machine.
If the drum is jammed and it does not spin by hand, then continue the test.
Foreign object
It happens that between the tank and the drum there is a small object that interferes with normal operation and causes error F21: coins, buttons, bones of bras and other details of clothes that get into the crevice when washing.
It is important to remove the item immediately, otherwise it may damage the tank, resulting in water leakage and costly repairs. How to do it:
- Unplug the Bosch washer.
- Pull the cuff of the hatch.
- You may notice a foreign object and you can pull it out.
- For further search, remove the front panel of the machine.
- Take out the heating element (TEN) below. It happens that the fabric clings to its tube, then you just have to remove it.
- If there is nothing, shine a flashlight into the hole of the heater and remove the object.
- Everything is clear? Then put CM Bosch on its side.
- Below you will see a branch pipe. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the pipe.
- The opened hole will allow you to look into the tank and check everything. The video will help you:
Bearing malfunction
If the bearing is worn, you will hear noise and humming during the operation of the SM. Changing a bearing is not easy, but you can try:
- Turn off the power, turn off communications.
- Remove the top panel.
- Pull out the powder dispenser by pressing the lock in the middle.
- Remove the screws that secure the control panel, and remove it.
- Remove the bottom panel, unscrew the screws holding the front panel of the washer.
- Now you need to remove the hatch cuff. To do this, remove the metal clamp with a screwdriver. Pull out the cuff to access the clamp.
- Turn off two bolts of fastening of UBL (blocker of the hatch).
- Bend the cuff and pull out the lock, then remove the entire panel.
- Take out the dispensing tray and remove the counterweights.
- Pull out the heater and then the drain pipe.
- Remove the engine and pressure chamber.
- Remove the tank from the springs and lay it on the surface.
- Remove the cuff from the door and turn the tank upside down.
- Removing the pulley, you will get to the bearing.
You can now complete the replacement.
