How to turn on the boiler after installation? If you installed it yourself, problems may occur. In this article, we will tell you how to properly start the device, even if you need it only during a seasonal shutdown of water.
Connection of a water heater to a network
Where to begin:
- If you have been supplied with water and the boiler is already connected to the pipes, turn off the hot water valve. Even when installing a check valve, this safety measure must be observed. Otherwise, the hot stream will go to the neighbors.
After overlapping, make sure that it is reliable. Open the faucets to be sure: if there is no water, close them back.
- To correctly determine the location of the hot and cold pipes, turn to face the boiler. Cold is on the right, hot is on the left. They are usually indicated by blue and red nozzles.
- Now open the blue tap (cold), and only then red (hot). Open the faucet on the mixer, wait until the air comes out and the liquid fills the appliance. You will determine the moment of filling by the fact that a strong pressure of water will flow from the tap.
It remains to connect the plug to the outlet - the work is finished.
Some users believe that to save energy it is beneficial to disconnect the boiler from the network after heating. However, the storage tank has a design that constantly maintains heat. It is more profitable to keep the set temperature than to start heating from scratch.
This applies not only to the cost of electricity, but also to the duration of the work:
- The tank in which the water is located is less susceptible to corrosion. The liquid inside does not stagnate when heated, microorganisms do not multiply in it.
- If the heater is disconnected from the mains in a cold room, the system may fail. First of all, temperature sensors break down.
- Each time, disconnecting the device from the network, it is possible to perform an incorrect start - without water, which will lead to equipment breakdown.
The first launch of a boiler of different manufacturers
Depending on the brand, the connection features may vary.
Ariston (Ariston)
As soon as there is a set of water and you are connected to the network, do this:
- Make sure that the indicators light up on the panel.
- After that, the temperature lights should blink. This means that the boiler is not working.
- In the panel, press the power key.
- Based on the readings on the display (in the current state), set the required heating temperature using the thermostat or keys.
- Press the power button to select a mode from 1500 to 2500 watts.
If “memory” is not installed in your model, you will have to set the settings again after disconnecting.
Thermex (Termex)
The device of this manufacturer has simple controls. After connecting to the network, just turn the thermostat to the desired position - heating will begin. After 30 minutes, you can check how the temperature is gaining on the sensor. Open the mixer - is there a hot stream? So you did everything right.
Electrolux (Electrolux)
To turn on water heating, press the Power button. Set the necessary indicators. You can read more about how to use the water heater in the instructions.
Mode recommendations
It is believed that by setting a low heating temperature, energy can be saved. This is not so, because the efficiency of the device is reduced. When choosing a technique, pay attention to additional functionality. The saving function, which is indicated by the letter "E", will be useful.
You need to understand that in this case we are talking about reducing finances for boiler maintenance. When you turn on the economy mode, the heating does not exceed 50 degrees. Scale is practically not deposited on the parts and walls of the tank.
Indicators below 50 degrees promote the growth of bacteria and microorganisms. Water gets an unpleasant odor and color. How to clean the water heater, read a separate article.
Why the equipment does not turn on
You started the device, following the recommendations, but nothing happened? It is necessary to check the network cable, socket, plug for serviceability. Also read the article: “Why does a water heater dislodge an RCD?”
What could have caused the problem:
- Strong scale deposit on the heater; its malfunction.
- Failure of the thermostat. It can give excessive readings, which leads to the disconnection of the RCD.
- Empty tank, air remained inside.
Before connecting, read the instructions and our recommendations. Improper operation can lead to damage to expensive equipment. If you are not sure about the mounting ability, it is better to call a specialist.
